I've been running around for two weeks telling all my friends that if they haven't seen Le Switch, they need to. I attended the show on opening night, which was shortly after the June 12 shooting at Pulse nightclub. I was feeling low, friends.
My intermission tweet says it all: "#LeSwitch at @JungleTheater is just what I needed: warm, smart, & sexy comedy. #OpeningNight #QueerRomance #IntermissionTweet." This show celebrates the traditional AND non-traditional family that the LGBTQIA community makes. As a queer ally and an active member of the theater community I found myself laughing heartily during Le Switch and the togetherness of the theater experience was very cathartic. A big thanks to The Jungle for the free ticket which allowed me to write this piece. |

"I think of different theaters as portals between worlds, and the plays I write give me access to these worlds through these different portals. I love popping up in new portals, exploring new worlds and families, learning more about how different communities/worlds like to tell and receive their stories." ~Philip Dawkins
